Responsibilities include:

  • Experience in residential electrical work
  • Ability to clearly communicate and interact with customers and team members
  • Engage in mentoring company apprentices
  • Capacity to learn our residential and operations software
  • Proficient in use of laptop and tablet technology
  • Familiar with all aspects of a 120/240V single phase system
  • Ability to trouble shoot circuits
  • Value the importance of completing paperwork daily
  • Value the importance of good ‘housekeeping’ skills in maintaining a professional presentation and care for customer and company property

The Right Candidate:

  • Has residential electrical experience or as a handyman for 5 years or more
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Doesn’t wait for someone else to give them a task to do, they take the initiative to move it forward
  • Starts each day looking for something positive to happen
  • Wants to learn something new and recognizes that learning can be a hard process
  • Sets goals and holds themselves accountable to achieve them
  • Listens more than they speak
  • Enjoys interacting with customers to solve problems and provide excellent service.

Cogburn Electric Inc. provides industrial, commercial, and residential electrical contracting services in the north-central region of Ohio with some customers having presence and serviced in other regions / states. The company was founded in 1975 by Dale Ruth and was transitioned to the leadership of Scott Ruth in 1999.   • Ability to clearly communicate and interact with customers and team members
  • Engage in mentoring company apprentices
  • Capacity to learn our residential and operations software
  • Proficient in use of laptop and tablet technology
  • Familiar with all aspects of a 600V system
  • Familiar with EMT, GRC, MC, and Romex
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to trouble shoot circuits and equipment
  • Perform routine bucket truck work
  • Value the importance of completing paperwork daily
  • Value the importance of good ‘housekeeping’ skills in maintaining a professional presentation and care for customer and company property

The Right Candidate:

  • Journeyman's card or a minimum of 4 years industrial/commercial experience
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable on company policy
  • Doesn’t wait for someone else to give them a task to do, they take the initiative to move it forward
  • Starts each day looking for something positive to happen
  • Wants to learn something new and recognizes that learning can be a hard process
  • Sets goals and holds themselves accountable to achieve them
  • Listens more than they speak
